Virtual couples therapy for people in BC and Ontario

No matter where you are in your relationship, I’m here to help you both feel heard, respected, and valued.

There is no right way to have a relationship, and there is no right way to do couples therapy

I won’t sugarcoat it. Couples therapy is hard. It takes vulnerability, risk, and courage. I approach my work with couples with all of this in mind, from a place of respect for your choices and honouring your relationship.

Couples therapy is for any couple who has been together any amount of time

It’s not only for long-term married couples on the brink of divorce, though it certainly can be. The techniques and perspectives that are a good fit for you depend on your strengths, your reason for seeking support, where you are stuck, and your preferences.

Maybe you are…

  • Brand new and want to instill a balanced foundation

  • Navigating big changes and considering next steps

  • Wanting to learn how to reconnect, repair, and love differently

  • Feeling stuck in the same loop and the same fight over and over

  • Seeking clarity around what you want from your relationship

  • Considering decoupling

  • Experiencing infidelity

  • Opening up or closing your relationship

  • Looking for more connection and closeness

  • Experiencing a lot of fighting, anger, or resentment

  • Feeling like you’ve become too blended

A healthy relationship is a balanced relationship

I believe that we have chosen our partners for a reason. If we are living intimately, they should challenge us to grow past our stuck points. But rather than focusing on who is right about what, I want to help you both respond to each other relationally and proactively.

My goal is to help you build on what you have while finding your balance in love, partnership, and romance. I support you in slowing down and stepping out of the cycle that is not serving you as a couple. I take a fluid, integrative approach because there is no one-size-fits-all intervention that will “cure” the problem.

Goals I can support with

In my work with couples, I often weave together structural and attachment perspectives. This means that we look at how your couple subsystem is organized, while also working towards strengthening the safety in your emotional bond.

  • Deepening emotional bond

  • Moving from independence or codependence to interdependence

  • Recovering from infidelity

  • Crisis

  • Recalibrating structural imbalances

  • Balancing love, romance, and desire

  • Finding greater clarity

  • Fortifying your strengths

  • Gaining a deeper understanding of conflict

  • Enhancing relational skills in or out of conflict
